add faction specific defences for sieges
Imagine this - Cannon towers for Barya, Boiling oil or Archer towers for Arleon, Towers that shot undead spirits for Barony of Loth, and moats that look like swamps with poisoned water for Rana :D
this might be a feature that would only be included in the later stage of early access but it would be really, really cool to have.
If this was a thing, what kind of defenses unique for each faction would you like to see?

Andreas Peter Larsenspeaking of sieges as another one said on the steam forums - and i really agree with this - "I really would like to see gates being implemented. It's kind of jarring to see enemies just waltz in through the front door or the lack of it in this case." Thank u! yes! its very strange this isnt a thing

Sloul MergedEvery faction would have distinctive defensive bonuses/systems.
Just some thoughts to illustrate the direction of this suggestion:
Arleon and Loth might keep the Ballistas (they heil from the same culture).
Barya would probably use something more gunpowder oriented, destructive AOE + reload time. -

i have suggested something similar of adding Factions specific defenses :) but the more people that wish for the idea,

NethyI think just showcasing thematic defenses is enough imo. Loth/Rana using poison projectiles as an example, while keeping the stock defenses like the ballista integrated somehow.
I just hope for more solid faction town maps with range units integrated into the actual defenses. -

luddegodofpainOne thing i would think was interesting is having some sort of overworld artillery, maybe as a structure to occupy a build slot?
It might cost money, or resources to fire, and deal either damage, or some detrimental effect to the target, such as lowering combat skills until the next battle or what have you.
I feel it would make sieges more interesting, and would definitely warrant upholding vision over the lands surrounding the city! -

But it sounds like something that deserves to make its own post in here :)
nevertheless, i am glad to see that improvments to the segie combat are on the roadmap for the game for 2023. -

Moderator AdminWe agree it's cool, but also a lot of work in terms of feature programming and creation of art assets (as well as balancing design work). So for that reason we chose to focus on other suggestions for implementation which we feel give more bang for the buck.
