[Map Editor] Water/River crossings.
Currently there is no way of crossing a water way such as a river.
Adding a crossing such as traversable shallow water or bridges would add the possibility for more dynamic maps and campaigns.
A strong mod/mapping community would undoubtedly help the longevity of the game.

That said, you can accomplish crossings over water by fiddling around with terrain height.
Basically you make narrow bridges of land over a body of water, then setting the terrain height of the "land-bridge" to 1 lower than the body of water, you get a shallows which does not look too ugly, although you have to do some acrobatics to hide the water height glitches that this causes on the top side of the water.
Bridges or shallows are preferred, but you could try this as an alternative until we have them :) -

Slippy DuckNot just water/river crossings, but crossings in general. I want to make bridges over a chasm/ravine instead of using a teleporter just to move the 5 or so tiles across a terrain change.

Moderator AdminSorry to say that this will be out of scope due to the technical implications. There is a lot of edge cases that will need to be solved and while it would be cool visually to have, we feel that our time and energy gives more bang for buck if invested in other areas of the game.

Moderator AdminI'll backtrack on my previous statement and mention that we are now doing this! Patrik has been working hard with modding capabilities and improving the level editor tools, so this is something we plan to get into the game!

KrauserGreat to see that this has been added to the editor! Few things though: The textures dont really fit well with other textures like Arleon walls. (which is the closest to a match as far as I can tell) and variants for the different factions would be great. Also I'd love to see both diagonal bridges and walls.. just would feel a lot more organic in a many situations.
Otherwise stellar job. Love that you guys are so open to community feedback! Keep it up ;D -

WillThe bridge is great but want to emphasize the shallow/traversable water, as it's not clear if it's been approved? I'd also like to suggest expanding on the shallow water to traversable mud as well.
Not only for stylistic reasons but also to add the additional game mechanic of movement penalties both in and out of battle. Consuming 4 Wielder movements out of battle and 2 troop movements in battle when travesing through mud for example.
