Add option to create a random map with an option to select the map size, player counts and possibly even win conditions.

Samuel TurrentineThis one is quite huge, and I hope it does not get overlooked. I know in one of your developer streams you talked about how you didn't want to make a bad random generator just to make one, but having a random map generator would make multiplayer infinitely viable. The reason is that i've noticed during multiplayer matches, even though there's a small element of randomness...if you know a map with a faction you can pretty much optimize and overwhelm other players on the map by sheer knowledge of it. It makes the games quite unenjoyable without playing every map on your own several times just to know the map before engaging in a multiplayer match. Having a random map generator would allow more of an adaptable environment for multiplayer and thus make the game even more of a strategy god game (Songs of Conquest is already a god tier game)

zdzichu09I think it is a lot of work but it would be great if it have more option then just "Generate". Like settings for biom guard strenght, ability to set value on objects a then set how mutch in single zone u can find it. It smthg like H3 hota random map generator or one would say random map template maker :D https://h3hota.com/en/templates I suscpect you have enought of mentioning that game but those thing was rly almost percfect.

JohanYou should team up with the guy behind Heroes Hour. He is an expert on creating auto generated maps. Much of his code could probably be copy pasted into this game.

EmperorRandom Map Generator is probably the most important feature for longevity. Playing the exact same maps over and over gets old after a while, but with Random Map Generator you'll have infinite maps to explore.

MezI think a procedural map generator is vitally important. It's really enjoyable to be able to jump into a map and have no idea (no preview screenshot, etc.) of what you're getting into. Totally would want this in the final product.
Also - if you want to be able to support competitive maps, you could have a function where the RNG makes symmetrical / replicated pie-slice layouts that are mirrored for each player, so you end up with a balanced pin-wheel looking map. -

I've never played a game like this where the random map generator was good enough to be much fun.
I always ended up replaying the good hand made maps again and again, which, hopefully there's plenty of from the community -

Don RobertoIn HOMM I only play the random maps. I prefer to pit my self against the AI in an unscripted environment. The games are more varied and replay value is near infinite if there are reasonable options/variables on how to set up a random game. Sometimes I want a challenge, sometimes a casual game. Please consider adding this to SOC. Thanks, from someone who played Sierra's Kings Quest when it first came out.

Please contact Steve Fawkner. The creator & designer of Warlords. Specifically WARLORDS III DLR, had one of the best RMG back in those days( Main reason I still play the game). A lot of hardcore players, me included won’t buy a game of this type without a Robust Random Map Generator. No Rush though, you could add it as a future addition to the game after release. But please commit that you will make one. Thanks -

MikatoPossibility to set up values / value margins for areas, objects, troops, ressources, artifacts and assigning several templates for the generation in the creation of a map instead of randomizing it randomly as a whole. So the community would be abel to create own maps with randomization for cometetive play and different gamemode ideas wich would lead to longlivity and replayability of certain maps.

KeristeroI suggest you look into WFC (wave function collapse) for implementing this.
Doing a layered approach of generating the map paths, items and encounters - then letting WFC fill the blanks to make it pretty.

PurpleSweetTartI am very hesitant to buy the game without a random map generator. Making maps is fun but difficult and time consuming and if you get easily flustered, making maps is not something a lot of people will do. What made HOMM great and worthwhile was replay ability. Were the maps weird, yes, but it made the game outlive itself into popular game culture. HOMM is one of the reasons SOC exists. Don't sell the game short, a random map generator will help the game live longer.

NoonienRandom Map Generstor is what keeps me playing Homm3 since it was released. Random Maß generator was par of an expansion, without it, I never would have played that long time, and still playing it.

Łukasz M.There are so many fan created maps there. And in Songs of Conquest is see the best system to quickly add fan created map to our game. This is the perfect idea. Much easier than in the times of Heroes 3.
The most important is to have "cpu-player" turns as quick as possible - so that we can play the biggest maps for 8 people. -

MecharionI agree 100% to Noonien. A random map generator keeps the game fresh and alive! It adds unlimited content and should be added.
Look at "they are billions" for example - i would never had dumped 100+ hours in the game if the maps wouldnt be new and fresh every game.
Or "Northgard" - another great example. The random-maps give soooo much replayability.
Random maps are very important! Please bring us a good one! -

BrudaVooAlso, there should be not just random map generator. It should work similar to the "template random map" in Heroes 3. That means that each map has its own unique template. General things like how does the map look like (in general, not in details), respawns, qty of mines, etc. must be always the same. But all the rest must be random generated, balanced. For example, the guards on the roads for moving into the center (like Jebus Cross), or rewards on each resp must have the same value, but objects will be randomly generated.
