An option to replay the auto-battle yourself manually, if you’re unsatisfied with its outcome.
yes. that was a super cool feature in AOE planetfall. would be super cool to have it here.
I like what current Heroes 3 does - the auto-battle happens automatically, and gives you the option to accept results or try it yourself.
This is very important to speed up multiplayer games, if people are really competitive they will want to do every battle manually. It would be great if they could see the preview and then decide if they accept the outcome or want to fight it manually instead. It would shave off a lot of uninteresting fights from multipayer and speed up the early- to mid-game which is primarily PvE considerably.
I am in favor of Glazz idea
This feature is very cool.
This would be very nice. I never use the auto atm, because auto sometimes just throws away troops in very easy fights. If you're not 100% sure that auto won't mess up, it's just not worth the risk.
Totaly agree with that one. It's really annoying that you can't still decide to play a battle if you disagree wtih the result of the auto-battle.
Give the player a option for always using autocombat first, and if you don't like the results from the autocombat to play it out play the manually. This system could also be used for retrying combats that you don't like to outcome of without going through all the loading menues. In single player it won't bother anyone who wants to fight out all their battles, and in multiplayer you could either cap the combat with a timer, or just accept the extra secound that the buttonpushing would take. In multiplayer you should not be able to use the retry feature tho. This feature is one of the best thing implemented in the HD+ Mod for Heroes 3.
Agree, saves a lot of time in MP and SP if the result is satisfactory on some boring battles/creeping
This is a great suggestion, as-is I just don't use quick battle at all, no point in risking it.That said - others suggested the HD+ Homm3 style auto-quick-battle feature in addition to this - but on my computer and probably some other older ones, automatic quick battle would be pretty tedious because of the time it takes to resolve quick battles. So ideally if "automatic quick battle" were added in addition to a manual replay, it would be a toggleable setting somewhere.
I'd actually like to always gave a redo/restart battle option:After auto battlesAfter manual battlesMid manual battle
I agree that this is needed, for multiplayer it is a complete must, but even for singleplayer it is a great QoL improvement. Currently you can't use auto battle that much just for the fear the the result will be much worse than what you could have achieved and you don't have a way to take it back.
Indeed, this is a "must be" feature, they have it in the HoMM III (horn of abyss) and it make the game much better than before.
Sometimes Autocobat results are ridiculous, so it would be nice if you could have one manual attempt to do better or worse, the result of the manual fight result would be final.

I really can't use autobattles for my main necro army, couse I'm affraid to lose key units. Manual reDo solution would be great.
Being able to replay a manual engagement against an AI player would also be really nice. Most players are going to reload to replay individual battles; being able to skip the quit/reload step would be a big quality of life improvement.
