Give Cities with walls and/or guard towers zone of control
Self explanatory, right now walls give defensive advantage and create choke points for wielders, I think that they should also be able to prevent enemy scouts from passing from one wall opening to the other and pillaging buildings inside. Current price of walls might be too low for this effect, but on the other hand its not like you will build them in all settlements.
If this is too much, then maybe atleast give 5x5 zone of control to guard towers. I just think that there should be a way to force enemy passing through the highly developed city to fight the guards or turn around.

ChrisI would consider making another upgrade to city walls 'City gates'.
However only for the purpose of zone control. Battle map should NOT have gates. -

Harpwing MergedIt seems a bit cheesy that single troop wielder armies can take maxed march and just run around disrupting economy for free. If settlements were to say, have some sort of area denial or zone of control (or if that area denial were buildable as a building) that wouldn't allow for free enemy movement past that settlement's "area," it would make it a lot less frustrating to have to play whack-a-mole against spammable wielders.
