Add active abilities to the some artifacts
To spice up the artifacts, the most powerful ones could have active abilities that you could use on battlefield - like spells. Some could also have abilities that you can use on campaign map, like teleporting or summoning special units.

akowe could have unique spells attached to them that would modify units behavior.
like imagine an artifact with a "give poison attack to unit" or "modify essence of unit to X color", "swap attack and defense stats", "trap target unit into unbreakable ice for 1 round" etc...
but useable only once per battle. -

KvorumI agree, this is a great idea! for example, items that add new spells to the book, or items that allow you to teleport a short distance, or to a city of your choice. For example, in HHM3 this is implemented at the expense of mana, but in SoC you can make these items with a global cooldown.
also want to see items with a negative aura on the enemy. Well, ideally prefabricated sets. The game already traces items from, say, one "family", why not make it possible to combine them into something cooler -

Rasc the first rider AdminI've always loved this idea and have on several occasions hacked these kinda stuff into the game. Not sure if I'll ever get the time to do something real with it.
I once created an axe that you could cut down trees with to make your own paths. I've also created a town portal scroll that created a temporary portal back to your starting town. What fun times that was!
