Add underground level/layer and underground tiles/content for maps
It would be great to have underground levels with cave and stone tiles. It would allow for atmospheric lighting and additional story telling. It would also extend the size of maps greatly. Similar to how HoMM5 underground levels.

JonathanI'd love if the devs made a cave system similar to Age of Wonders 3. Having multiple map layers adds strategic 'depth' to the game. An underground focused faction would be a welcome addition as well.

Clean&ClearI always felt like the underground is never as visually interesting as the ground level, so first I would probably prefer additional ground biomes, like snow, some scorched/lava biome, and so on. Gameplay wise you can create the same effect as having underground by having two islands connected with portals, or just have the areas on the map be separated by impassable terrain. It's not exactly the same feeling as having underground, I know, but I would personally leave underground till much later, if ever.

jtyqreally like this suggestion. Huge fan of 8-player big maps and having an underground layer could literally double the map size, allowing more room between each player and a more draggy game of exploration and maximising stats for those who prefer it - like myself.

ChrisOnly as paid DLC. Curently game offers a very good content amount/price ratio.
Please remember that this is not a AAA big 60USD+ game with microtransatcions. -

TitusUnderground is cool and all but I'd rather have an "alternative dimension/world" map layer in the same fashion that Masters of Magic had. Or like Age of Wonders2 that had three different map layers (surface, underground and shadow realm)

TitusWhat I don't like about underground in games like these is that it usually ends up looking boring and sameish (when it could have all kinds of cool environments like lave caves, ice caves, mushroom caves, crystal caves lost world-like jungles etc), but a different plane, that just has way more possibilities in terms of biomes, monsters, factions etc.

keturaSeconding the idea for traveling through alternate "planes" or "dimensions" rather than just underground. Gives em a chance to be weird or fanciful, instead of locking it into "dark cave".

KhorneBigger maps, gigantic ones. Underground is a must have , like water and boats. For example, in age of wonders II, u have another level like a shadow parallel universe, can be another idea for a faction identity design.

ArseniyNot underground but parallel dimensions. With the option to have multiple dimensions for a single map.
And "underground" can be just one possible dimension. But having an opportunity for multiple custom dimensions will provide a great opportunity for customization, map creation, lore etc. -
