Dynamic weather
Dynamic, changing weather every 5/10/15 turns (could be more or less, depends hardly on the balance) with its own positive and negative effects. For instance, fog could decrease wielders vision during exploraton, but give them a chance for higher rewards during battles/looting. Events like rainfall, misty fog or thunderstorm would bring more diversity to the visiual apparence of the game and add a dynamic mechanic to change your tactic, playstyle depending on the current weather.
ADMIN EDIT:
For clarification: make this an option in the map editor as well.

SmokI would rather suggest weather presets in editor. So map creator can make some weathers and change them randomly, by events or triggers. And then with events system, design positive and negative effects, which does not break map design/balance.

Munin Admin@Smok Would you be so kind and create a seperate suggestion for this? We need to keep things lucid, otherwise such awesome suggestions might get lost in comments of a more general suggestion.

Evil Anarchist@Munin What I said was just a loose sugestion, the system I am thinking about should be customizable in map editor, and in the game lobby, so everybody can play the game as they feel like. @Smok has made a good addition to my idea and I think the discussion should stay there, just becouse its current upvotes.
Anyway, keep up the great work. -

Munin Admin@Evil Anarchist Thank you for the clarification. I don't know whether you can edit your original suggestion, so I'll just add a short sentence regarding the availability of a dynamic weather option in the editor. I hope you don't mind!

WorthlesstowelEven having dynamic weather without any impact on gameplay would be a very positive addition. Definitely upvoted

TormozWould be really cool, if battles during the thunderstorm would have a very very small chance of a lightning strike on a random hex on the battlefield.

DarthYeah, changing weather would be nice addition to the game and will create unique moments that will form a player's story

Lukasz M.Dynamic weather will be something new. Such feature don't have any other turn-based game.
Homm, Age of Wonders, Disciples - none of them have such feature.
I know, that it could be hard to implement - but it will add a ton of excitement to the game: only I, enemy and this big storm between us. -

ako@smok we already have weather preset (and time of the day too. so night maps are possible!!! ) in map editor.

HellslayerxI wrote i want to see more storms... game too cherful, while it didnt got many votes but i would be perfectly happy with dynamic weather and perhaps day-night cycle every 10 or 20 turns..

UUI think weather affecting battle and/or exploration will add an unnecessary complication and randomness to the game. It would also add a lot of work to balance things around the new mechanic.

calltoactionX- different weather can give different magic buffs during battles (say, +1 chaos during storms)
- there can be a foreteller building on a map that predicts when the weather will change -

Moderator AdminAfter consideration we have come to the conclusion that we do not think dynamic weather fits optimally within the current game design or the future development sprints.
